My long-time Fitness Hero, Frank Zane, wrote a great article on parsimony. He states the following:

“…you should experience maximum gains from the least amount of training.”

Sounds ideal if you ask me.

He goes on…

Parsimony… means you train less frequently but harder…. progress occurs when you train hard then rest deeply.”

Short and sweet is where it’s at. Too many folks waste time needlessly in the Gym.

From too many exercises to too much cardio Team, to heaven forbid talking on the cell phone while performing leg extensions (just saw that the other day!) many folks are expert time-wasters.

P.S.

A few days ago I had one of my most Effective Chest Workouts ever Team, in 7 minutes flat (after 1 warm-up set.)

I usually do the 14-minute Phase 2 protocol, which I do suggest for advanced trainees, but I was in a big hurry so I had to crunch it down to 7 minutes.

I may just stay there! I was shocked at how my body reacted to this:

KNOWING I had only 7 minutes before I ever even entered The gym Team, and KNOWING EXACTLY what to do during those 7 minutes.

That kind of Hyper-Density Focus is absolutely unreal.
